Outreach
Clubhouses are communities of people who are dedicated to one another’s success – no matter how long that takes or how difficult it is. As such, it is important that members are encouraged to stay connected to the clubhouse community, and that the community openly accepts new members into its circle of care. Part of the daily work of the clubhouse is a program called “Reach Out” which helps keep track of members so they do not “fall between the cracks”. When a member does not attend the clubhouse, a “reach out” telephone call or visit is made to let the member know that he or she is missed. Other outreach programs will be conducted to inform those experiencing mental illness about the opportunities available at Club Stairways.
